Transcription: Hello! Today I get to introduce another amazing tool for your Latin studies - William Whitaker's Words developed by you guessed it William Whitaker. It's available on the App Store the Google Play Store via download or on the internet which is perhaps the simplest way to access it. The link will be in this description. William Whitaker words  also has another online interface shown here but I do not recommend it as it does not allow you to transfer English words into Latin which is useful when you're constructing your own Latin sentences so I would recommend sticking with the original interface from the University of Notre Dame. I'll just do a quick demonstration to show you how this works. You can put in any Latin word - let's use Romanus - and it will provide all of the grammatical information about that word and the general meaning of the word. It does not assign a specific translation to the word because that translation really depends on the context that it is is in and it doesn't want to provide any inaccurate information. Essentially you have to interpret the result and provide the translation in your sentence depending on how it's needed. Now I will do a demonstration converting an English word into Latin. I put in the phrase Roman it will provide many suggestions for what I might try to use what I might want to use. One is obviously Romanus you know the standard Romans or maybe I was referring not just to the Romans but to the entire Latin people the entire Latin civilization. It's what existed before the Romans took over Italy so it's sort of like a precursor to the Roman state or I could be talking about different our textual styles or even the legendary founder of Rome - Romulus. It provides a lot of suggestions for you and provides the context behind each of those suggestions so that you can choose the right one depending on what you're trying to express in Latin. It's an awesome translation tool and I highly recommend it. Thank you for listening!
